"What do you think?" asks AOL

Recently on British TV, AOL has been running adverts with the slogan "The internet, what do you think?" Well, just to answer their question, I think the internet is marvellous :) I'm not quite sure how I survived before it. I'm a particular fan of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia:

http://www.wikipedia.org/

which is an incredible resource for personal advancement.

I also hope that through the greater communication enabled by the internet, the world is made a safer place. It's more difficult for Governments to use propaganda on the masses, and as people can communicate more readily, maybe it means that disputes can be aired through online communication rather than through military action (it was for instance rather difficult for opposing sides to communicate during the First World War).

You see, whilst we all know what the most popular use of the internet is, there are many other more productive uses it can be put to. Like, for instance, finding out how to improve your diet and health, learning a foreign language through the use of online translators and online chat with foreigners, making yourself wealthier through learning about investment or running your own website ... the list is endless.

Cheers All
