Google Buys JotSpot for Wiki Product

Google has bought JotSpot, who aimed to bring Wikis to the masses. Google will make the JotSpot Wiki part of its online software suite offering. Wikis should see increasing uptake, and they will probably eventually have a big impact on the way people work. Up until now they have been geek-only because of the difficulty involved in installing them. See:

We've only just tried it, and are currently authenticating our UK Shopping site. The site isn't doing so well on Google lately, so needless to say we're taking a greater interest in Yahoo! and the new MSN Live.

In case you didn't know, pinging is the process by which you notify the various blog search services that you have updated your blog. It's a good idea to ping after every post.
